1) Ian’s foods have no artificial colors, flavors or preservatives in our foods. Ian’s adheres to the strictest USDA regulations on all ingredients used in our products. Ian’s uses a “minimally processed” standard for all of our ingredients. “Minimally processed” means that the ingredients cannot be processed, modified, atomized or autolyzed. Also, Ian’s is one of the few companies providing delicious options for people with food allergies.

2) Ian’s never uses bleached flours. Typically flour is bleached using potassium bromate, a chemical used as an oxidizing agent. Potassium bromate has been banned in Europe, Japan and Canada. In California, flours containing this chemical must carry a label warning of its potential as a carcinogen.

3) Ian’s never uses any hydrogenated oils. This means that Ian’s products do not contain any trans fats. Ian’s uses only the best non-hydrogenated soybean, canola and cottonseed oil. We do this because tests show that hydrogenated oils can cause non-insulin dependent type II diabetes and also increases the risk of heart disease and cancer. Hydrogenated oils are also molecularly changed which is more than “minimally processed”.

4) Ian’s fish sticks and fish fillets do not contain any tripolyphosphates. Ian’s fish items are only frozen one time. The fish is frozen on the boat and remains frozen until you take the product home and cook it. This lets us provide you with a product that tastes as fresh as possible and doesn’t contain chemicals that other companies have to use because the fish is frozen, thawed and then refrozen.

5) Ian’s line of “Go Skinless” chicken nuggets, chicken patties, mini chicken patty sandwiches and our Wheat Free/Gluten Free Recipe chicken nuggets, contains no chicken skin. Most manufacturers put 20% chicken skin into their chicken nuggets. It helps cut their costs. Ian’s “Go Skinless” line of chicken products does not contain any chicken skin—only white meat chicken. This gives you a tastier product with better texture and also reduces the fat content up to 60% compared to other brands.

6) Ian’s is committed to using antibiotic and hormone free beef in our products. This means that the meat used has not been administered any antibiotics or hormones from birth. We use only quality Coleman beef, which is free-range grazed and fed a nutritious vegetarian diet, complete with natural minerals and amino acids. Coleman also prohibits animal by-products in their feed, so there is no chance of mad cow disease! Coleman’s dedication to quality insures the best possible tasting beef.

7) Ian’s Wheat Free/Gluten Free line includes chicken nuggets, fish sticks, Alphatots, popcorn turkey corn dogs, a popcorn turkey corn dog kids meal and a chicken finger kids meal. These products are wheat, gluten, dairy, egg, nut and soy free! The number of children with food allergies is growing by 10% yearly. Ian’s is proud to be part of the solution.

8) Ian’s kids meals have half the saturated fat and more protein than other kids meal brands. Ian’s five kids meals, when compared against other leading kids meal brands, have less fat, saturated fat and the same amount or more of protein per gram, per serving size. This means you can serve your kids fast and convenient meals without compromising nutrition!

9) Ian’s never uses any refined sugars. Many doctors, nutritionists and researchers consider refined sugar a major problem in America’s health. An average American consumes 175 lbs of sugar each year. Refined sugar has no nutritional value. Refined sugar can actually rob your body of nutrients, vitamins, minerals and enzymes. Ian’s uses evaporated cane juice. Evaporated cane juice is made by squeezing juice from sugar cane and then evaporating the water. What is left is a substitute for white refined sugar that contains vitamins and minerals—which refined sugar doesn’t contain.

10) Ian’s Japanese style Panko Original, Italian and Whole Wheat Breadcrumbs are unlike traditional breadcrumbs. The Panko style crumb is not gritty or dense and they absorb less grease than the traditional breadcrumb. They are the best for coating foods to give them a good crunch and a coarse texture. They are made using only unbleached wheat and whole wheat flours.
